Ganesha

Beginnings & Obstacles

The elephant-headed remover of obstacles, lord of wisdom and new ventures.

The Mythology

Ganesha received his elephant head when Shiva, not recognizing his own son, struck off his human head. This apparent tragedy became a blessing—the elephant head grants him wisdom and the ability to remove obstacles. He is invoked at the beginning of all ventures, the gateway to success.
